About

Carl Jones

Carl Jones is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s AI & Digital Accelerator Practice, focused on advising private equity investors, boards, and executive teams on how to translate AI and digital technologies into measurable enterprise value. His work sits at the intersection of AI strategy, commercial analysis, and financial modeling — helping investors and management teams identify where technology investments can accelerate growth, expand margins, and strengthen competitive positioning.

Carl works closely with investors throughout the investment lifecycle, from commercial and technology due diligence through value creation strategy and post-transaction transformation. He helps investors assess the strategic and technical viability of AI-enabled businesses, evaluate competitive positioning, and quantify the financial impact of digital investments on revenue growth, operating efficiency, and enterprise valuation.

He has extensive experience helping organizations design and execute AI-enabled value creation programs, including identifying high-impact AI opportunities, developing product and platform strategies, and building the financial and operational roadmaps required to translate emerging technologies into durable competitive advantage. At FTI, he has pioneered new AI strategy offerings and proprietary methodologies spanning AI Rapid Diagnostics, AI Cost Transformation, Rapid Prototyping, AI Disruption Analysis, and Agentic Business Case Development.

Over 14+ years in consulting, Carl has generated $20M+ in revenue attribution at the Managing Director level and led engagements spanning Media, EdTech, MarTech, AdTech, FinTech, CPG, Energy, Mining, and Business Services — for clients ranging from $500M growth-stage platforms to $20B+ global enterprises, and for financial sponsors including Blackstone, BlackRock, One Equity Partners, and Platinum Equity. Representative work includes architecting AI initiative portfolios of 120+ opportunities for a $15B energy leader, delivering value creation plans identifying ~30% revenue uplift and 30–45% cost reduction for a global PR and communications platform, and reducing operating costs by 20% for a direct-to-consumer streaming service.

By combining deep technology expertise with rigorous commercial analysis, Carl helps investors and CEOs make confident decisions about AI and digital investments and translate those investments into sustainable enterprise value.

Prior to joining FTI in 2015, Carl served as Director of Operations for an alternative-data technology start-up — where he was the first non-engineering hire and completed the company’s full-stack engineering training program — and was a Senior Associate in the Strategy and Operations practice at PwC. He holds a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University’s Dyson School. Outside of work, he is a private pilot with an instrument rating.
